SUMMARY:Grow and Gather: Summer Foraging
DESCRIPTION:Explore Phoebe Point Trail and learn how to forage with Taliesin Preservation Kitchen Gardener\, Abbie Lehman. The class begins with foraging basics at the base of the trail\, followed by a moderate 1.1-mile loop to identify common summer wild edibles. Participants will also discuss Frank Lloyd Wright’s connection to the Driftless region and how it inspired a culture of working with and learning within the natural environment. \n\n\n\nBy the end of the course\, you will learn why\, where\, and how to forage safely and responsibly\, along with key identification techniques and common plant families. This event is open to all skill levels and abilities\, including those who may not be able to undertake the hike (the first hour of discussion covers all core topics and many expected wild edibles). \n\n\n\nPlease note: Foraging on Phoebe Point Trail without express permission from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is prohibited. Participants must follow the guides’ instructions to ensure minimal environmental impact. \n\n\n\nItinerary: \n\n\n\n\n9:30 AM to 10:30 AM: Instruction at the base of the trail\n\n\n\n10:30 AM to 12:30 PM: Guided hike\n\n\n\n\nCheck-in & Logistics: Check in 10-15 minutes prior to the start time at the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center. Guests must drive themselves from the Visitor Center to the Phoebe Point Trail (less than a mile away; directions provided upon ticket purchase). Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle\, closed-toe shoes\, long-sleeved shirts\, pants\, and socks for sun and tick protection. SUMMARY:Angel Dreams Studio Student Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The students of Angel Dreams Studio are the featured artist in the Spring Green Community Library Community Room Gallery throughout June. \n\n\n\nThe students of Angel Dreams Studio\, ranging in age from 1 to 99\, are excited to showcase their hard work and creativity. Founded by Billie Jo Scharfenberg\, the Lone Rock studio is a creative space dedicated to glass art\, artistic education\, and community connection.  \n\n\n\nThe exhibit features work by homeschool students and other community artists who gather through the studio’s classes to learn\, create\, and connect. Students explore acrylic and watercolor painting\, drawing\, mixed media\, collage\, seasonal crafts\, creative journaling\, glass art\, and art history while developing confidence and artistic skills. Each piece reflects the individual imagination\, dedication\, and growth of the artists involved.  \n\n\n\nThis exhibit is available for viewing during regular library hours (Monday-Thursday: 10 AM – 7 PM • Friday: 10 AM – 5 PM • Saturday: 9 AM – 1 PM) when the Community Room is not in use.
