SUMMARY:Laura Druckrey’s Pottery in the Glass Case Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Watch for Laura Druckrey’s pottery in the Glass Case Gallery throughout the month of July. Laura tells about herself and her work\, “I discovered my passion for pottery as a sophomore while attending Wisconsin Lutheran High School in the city where I was born and raised: Milwaukee. That passion continued through college\, where I pursued ceramics as an independent minor and earned degrees in Early Childhood Education and Spanish. After graduation\, I began working in Milwaukee Public Schools while earning a third teaching license\, this one in Bilingual Education. Teaching and studying left little time for the wheel\, but I never lost my love for it. \n\n\n\nAfter teaching for 11 years in MPS\, I married and moved to Spring Green. Raising four children\, teaching in the River Valley School District\, and coaching soccer\, meant setting pottery aside once again. A few years ago\, I returned to the wheel and began selling my work at the Spring Green Farmers Market. Although family life and teaching full time have limited my time in the studio\, my love for pottery has never faded\, and I look forward to creating and sharing my work again in the future. I specialize in making unique pieces\, so no two are identical. My pieces in this exhibit consist of work from when I started in 1992\, to my most recent where I began naming them. I hope you enjoy!” \n\n\n\nThis exhibit is available for viewing during regular library hours (Monday-Thursday: 10 AM – 7 PM • Friday: 10 AM – 5 PM • Saturday: 10 AM – 1 PM) in the Glass Case Gallery. \n\n\n\nCost\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

SUMMARY:Christl Iausly's Wildflower Artwork in the Community Room Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Artist Christl Iausly is sharing her wildflower artwork in the Community Room Gallery during the month of July. \n\n\n\nChristl’s wildflower art is created by hand using self-collected flowers\, leaves\, twigs and more—most collected from her own gardens. She dries and presses these natural elements and creates original designs with them mounted on handmade papers. Every design is unique. Some include calligraphy. \n\n\n\nShe works in a large studio in her home which is blessed with lots of light. Her natural supplies are stored in labeled bins ready to be easily accessed when needed. She derives great pleasure there. \n\n\n\nAlso included in Christl’s show are hand-woven wheat ornaments in the traditional style of her native Germany. \n\n\n\nThis exhibit is available for viewing during regular library hours (Monday-Thursday: 10 AM – 7 PM • Friday: 10 AM – 5 PM • Saturday: 10 AM – 1 PM) when the Community Room is not in use. Visitors should ask for the key at the circulation desk. \n\n\n\nCost\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

SUMMARY:Counted Out
DESCRIPTION:Part of the 2026 Morrill Lecture Series: “A Revolution of Hope and Community\,” this event features a screening and discussion of Counted Out. The documentary investigates the biggest crises of our time—political polarization\, racial and economic inequity\, the global pandemic\, and climate change—through an unexpected lens: math. \n\n\n\nIn our current information economy\, an invisible layer of math underwrites almost everything: the people we date\, the news we see\, the influence of our votes\, and the education and jobs we can access. Whether we realize it or not\, numeric literacy has become a critical determinant of social and economic power. Through a mosaic of personal stories\, expert interviews\, and real-world math transformations\, Counted Out highlights what is at stake if we maintain the status quo. \n\n\n\nThe Morrill Lecture Series focuses on growing knowledge and critical thinking around complex national issues from a local\, rural perspective\, while highlighting community groups working to make a difference. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue
