Frank Lloyd Wright in the 21st Century

Part of the Frank Lloyd Wright and the American Landscape Lecture Series, this presentation features guest speaker Professor Anna Andrzejewski. This lecture will examine how Frank Lloyd Wright’s Wisconsin roots shaped his work and explore why his ideas about nature, technology, and community remain profoundly relevant today in our modern age of AI and climate change.

As part of a four-part public lecture series commemorating America’s 250th, this program explores Wright’s architectural principles and how his ideas offer valuable lessons for contemporary issues surrounding housing, livable cities, sustainability, and social equity.

About the Speaker: Anna Andrzejewski is the Frank Lloyd Wright Professor of Modern American Architecture and a Professor in the Department of Art History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A former Director of the Center for Culture, History, and Environment, she is also an affiliate of the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture, the Department of Geography, and the Department of Architecture (UW-Milwaukee). She teaches courses in the history of American art, architecture, and material culture.
