Grow and Gather: Eat the Weeds!

Tired of fighting all those garden weeds? Good news—you can eat them! Join Kitchen Gardener Abbie Lehman to learn which weeds in your garden are delicious and nutritious. The class will cover companion planting, how some weeds can actually benefit your garden when managed properly, and the importance of understanding native versus invasive weeds and how gardening affects the greater ecosystem.
Participants will tour the Kitchen Garden at Taliesin and have the opportunity to sample both the weeds and the garden produce. Make sure to bring a tote bag or basket to take home some garden goodies!
Check-in & Logistics: Guests should go directly to the Hillside School at 6604 HWY 23 Trunk. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the class starts to ensure you are in the correct location. (Staff at the main Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center can provide directions to the Hillside School if needed).
Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle, a basket/tote bag for goodies, sunscreen, bug repellent, and optionally a camp chair. For sun protection and tick safety, closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved shirts, pants, and socks are highly recommended.
