Grow and Gather: Seed Saving

October 10 @ 9:30 am 12:30 pm

Come learn everything you need to know about seed saving from Taliesin Preservation Kitchen Gardener, Abbie Lehman! Discover the importance and magic of saving seeds, both in the garden and in the wild. This course will cover climate zones, plant taxonomy, life cycles, pollination, propagation, and seed anatomy. By the end of the class, you will be ready to properly gather, process, store, and even eat your seeds! Plus, all participants will get to take home some of their very own Taliesin seeds.

Check-in & Logistics: Guests should go directly to the Hillside School at 6604 HWY 23 Trunk. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the class starts to ensure you are in the correct location. (Staff at the main Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center can provide directions to the Hillside School if needed).

Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle, gardening gloves, sunscreen, bug repellent, and optionally a camp chair. For sun protection and tick safety, closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved shirts, pants, and socks are highly recommended.
