Laura Druckrey’s Pottery in the Glass Case Gallery
July 14 @ 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
Watch for Laura Druckrey’s pottery in the Glass Case Gallery throughout the month of July. Laura tells about herself and her work, “I discovered my passion for pottery as a sophomore while attending Wisconsin Lutheran High School in the city where I was born and raised: Milwaukee. That passion continued through college, where I pursued ceramics as an independent minor and earned degrees in Early Childhood Education and Spanish. After graduation, I began working in Milwaukee Public Schools while earning a third teaching license, this one in Bilingual Education. Teaching and studying left little time for the wheel, but I never lost my love for it.
After teaching for 11 years in MPS, I married and moved to Spring Green. Raising four children, teaching in the River Valley School District, and coaching soccer, meant setting pottery aside once again. A few years ago, I returned to the wheel and began selling my work at the Spring Green Farmers Market. Although family life and teaching full time have limited my time in the studio, my love for pottery has never faded, and I look forward to creating and sharing my work again in the future. I specialize in making unique pieces, so no two are identical. My pieces in this exhibit consist of work from when I started in 1992, to my most recent where I began naming them. I hope you enjoy!”
This exhibit is available for viewing during regular library hours (Monday-Thursday: 10 AM – 7 PM • Friday: 10 AM – 5 PM • Saturday: 10 AM – 1 PM) in the Glass Case Gallery.
