Roots in the Right Place: Windbreak Design, Benefits, and Establishment

Join the Savanna Institute for an insightful farm tour in Spring Green to explore the design process behind a newly planted windbreak at Valley Farm. Farm director Erik Hagan will explain how the windbreak was installed this spring, outline expectations moving forward, and share important lessons learned from the project.

This tour offers a great opportunity to learn how windbreaks can successfully prevent wind-driven crop losses while providing wildlife habitat, privacy, and even sellable crops.

Guests who stick around after the tour are invited to participate in a free elderberry U-pick event on-site from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
