Join the Slowpoke Lounge & Cabaret for a performance by the Troubadours of Rhythm! Debuting in 2023, the Troubadours are a captivating journey through time, skillfully led by Milwaukee legend Jon Mroz. Drawing inspiration from the electrifying ambiance of the late 1920s and early 1930s South Side Chicago and North Side Milwaukee, this ensemble acts as a musical time machine, transporting listeners and dancers to an era of exuberance and innovation.
From stomps to rags and blues to swing, Mroz and his 5-to-6 piece musical ensemble have traveled the country to cleverly revive the syncopated rhythms, timeless melodies, and improvisational spirit that defined the golden age of jazz on the cusp of swing. Their instrumentation brings an authentic, vintage feel to modern venues, featuring an eclectic blend of guitar, banjo, upright string bass, acoustic piano, cornet, clarinet, trombone, and washboard, complete with vocal shouts and harmonies.
