An evening with Luis Alberto Urrea
Join the 2026 Morrill Lecture Series for a special memorial evening featuring Luis Alberto Urrea, the celebrated author who inspired this season's theme, "A Revolution of Hope and Community." Urrea is a bilingual poet, novelist, and essayist born in Tijuana to a Mexican father and an American mother. He beautifully channels his dual-culture life experiences to explore universal themes of love, loss, and triumph through stories of family and immigration.
Plain Kraemer Library Board Meeting
The Kraemer Library and Community Center holds its monthly Library Board Meeting on the last Monday of each month from 6:30 - 7:30pm.
Open Mic with Dylan Harris

Lone Rock Community Blood Drive
The American Red Cross and the Lone Rock Community are organizing a local blood drive. Donors are invited to schedule an appointment to give Blood or Power Red. Donating blood makes a critical difference for patients in need, and area residents are encouraged to sign up for a donation time ahead of the event. Registration preferred, but not required. Yarn Rocks! Bonus!
Come to the library to meet fellow knitters and crafters in the community. Attendees can come for help—beginner to mid-level knitting assistance is available—learn new skills, or simply brush up on current ones. It is a great opportunity to get out of the house for a few hours and enjoy the proven health benefits of craft work, including knitting and crocheting. Join when you can, and invite your knitting and crocheting friends to tag along.
The Creative Container
The Creative Container is a fun, safe space where community, creativity, and self-expression interweave through drawing, painting, textiles, sewing, and beading. If you need a group of like-minded individuals to commune with and hold you accountable to start, continue, or finish a creative project, this is the place for you. Each session gathers with the intention to connect with others and heal your nervous system through the creative process. Bring your own project or use the provided materials to deepen your practice of active meditation.

Community members can visit the Spring Green Library on the first Thursday of the month for assistance with their technology. If you need additional help with your technology, the River Valley Tech Help Line is available via phone or email to set up an in-person appointment at your local library or community center.

Lone Rock Farmers Market
The Lone Rock Farmers Market gathers every Thursday, featuring local artisans and farmers offering a variety of goods.
Home gardeners are also encouraged to bring their overstock to sell. Vendors can set up for a $10 weekly fee with no pre-registration required.
Pokémon Trade Night

Read to a Dog
Reading to a dog is a wonderful way to build reading skills and confidence. Readers ages 5 to 12 can sign up for a 15-minute slot to sit down and read aloud with a registered therapy dog, such as Dealer or Luna. Children can bring a favorite book or try a new one from the library's collection.

SLEEP – Sleep Education for Everyone Program
The Sleep Education for Everyone Program (SLEEP) is an evidence-based course from Michigan State University designed to help improve your sleep quality. If you have problems getting enough sleep, falling asleep, or staying asleep, this interactive six-week program teaches sleep hygiene best practices, Stimulus Control Therapy, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and more. The class is taught by Danielle Sander, Health & Well-being Educator at UW-Extension Sauk County. Because this is an interactive session, active participation by those who attend is highly appreciated. Pre-registration is requested and can be completed online or over the phone.

The Spring Green Farmers Market operates year-round, rain or shine, offering the best in local produce and handcrafted goods. The market's mission is to support local farmers, food producers, and artists while providing a forum for a healthy community. Shoppers are invited to enjoy coffee, baked goods, and live music while browsing fresh items like flowers and vegetables. During the Summer Market (mid-May to mid-October), vendors gather every Saturday morning outside the Spring Green Community Library from 9am - 12pm.
