Yarn Rocks!

It is a great opportunity to get out of the house for a few hours and enjoy the proven health benefits of craft work, including knitting and crocheting. Join when you can, and invite your knitting and crocheting friends to tag along.
The Creative Container
The Creative Container is a fun, safe space where community, creativity, and self-expression interweave through drawing, painting, textiles, sewing, and beading. If you need a group of like-minded individuals to commune with and hold you accountable to start, continue, or finish a creative project, this is the place for you. Each session gathers with the intention to connect with others and heal your nervous system through the creative process. Bring your own project or use the provided materials to deepen your practice of active meditation.

Tech Help Drop-In: Lone Rock Library
The River Valley area public libraries and the River Valley Broadband Initiative host a tech help drop-in session. Community members can visit the Lone Rock Library on the second Thursday of the month for assistance with their technology. If you need additional help with your technology, the River Valley Tech Help Line is available via phone or email to set up an in-person appointment at your local library or community center.
Thurs ‘Day to Eve’ Market
Shop, listen to music, grab local eats, and spend time with friends at the Discover Driftless Thurs 'Day to Eve' Market in Lone Rock. The market balances the simplicity and authenticity of a local market with the welcoming atmosphere of a community event, offering a day-into-evening experience that captures the spirit of the Driftless region. Vendors interested in showcasing their small business can message Discover Driftless to participate.
Lone Rock Farmers Market
The Lone Rock Farmers Market gathers every Thursday, featuring local artisans and farmers offering a variety of goods.
Home gardeners are also encouraged to bring their overstock to sell. Vendors can set up for a $10 weekly fee with no pre-registration required.
Pokémon Trade Night
Pokémon fans are invited to gather for an evening of trading and connecting with fellow collectors. Hosted weekly by Moerke Cards, the event provides a dedicated space and welcoming atmosphere for participants to trade cards and share their hobby with the local community.
Read to a Dog
Reading to a dog is a wonderful way to build reading skills and confidence. Readers ages 5 to 12 can sign up for a 15-minute slot to sit down and read aloud with a registered therapy dog, such as Dealer or Luna. Children can bring a favorite book or try a new one from the library's collection.
SLEEP – Sleep Education for Everyone Program
The Sleep Education for Everyone Program (SLEEP) is an evidence-based course from Michigan State University designed to help improve your sleep quality. If you have problems getting enough sleep, falling asleep, or staying asleep, this interactive six-week program teaches sleep hygiene best practices, Stimulus Control Therapy, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and more. The class is taught by Danielle Sander, Health & Well-being Educator at UW-Extension Sauk County. Because this is an interactive session, active participation by those who attend is highly appreciated. Pre-registration is requested and can be completed online or over the phone.
Evenings Afield: Protect the Night – Enjoy & Preserve Dark Skies
Experience the night sky and learn how to protect it from light pollution. Participants will identify constellations and act as citizen scientists by measuring night sky brightness for the Globe at Night campaign. Attendees are encouraged to bring a light (red is preferred) and binoculars if available. In the event of cloudy weather, this gathering will be rescheduled to October 15.

State Natural Areas Workday – Ridgeway Pine Relict
Join the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for a volunteer workday at the Ridgeway Pine Relict. This event, which occurs on the second Friday of each month, invites volunteers to help with weeding and site restoration efforts. Participants should expect to walk off-trail and engage in physical activity; please bring water, gloves, safety glasses, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Spring Green Farmers Market
The Spring Green Farmers Market operates year-round, rain or shine, offering the best in local produce and handcrafted goods. The market's mission is to support local farmers, food producers, and artists while providing a forum for a healthy community. Shoppers are invited to enjoy coffee, baked goods, and live music while browsing fresh items like flowers and vegetables. During the Summer Market (mid-May to mid-October), vendors gather every Saturday morning outside the Spring Green Community Library from 9am - 12pm.
Grow and Gather: Seed Saving
Come learn everything you need to know about seed saving from Taliesin Preservation Kitchen Gardener, Abbie Lehman! Discover the importance and magic of saving seeds, both in the garden and in the wild. This course will cover climate zones, plant taxonomy, life cycles, pollination, propagation, and seed anatomy. By the end of the class, you will be ready to properly gather, process, store, and even eat your seeds! Plus, all participants will get to take home some of their very own Taliesin seeds.

The Spring Green General Store hosts its monthly Bluegrass Jam, a community tradition that has been running for over twenty-five years. All musicians, music lovers, and "cool cats" are welcome to join in or listen to the live session.
Savanna Institute Spring Green Campus Open House
Explore the beautiful grounds of the Savanna Institute's Spring Green campus during this family-friendly open house. Attendees of all ages are welcome to enjoy farm tours, sample beverages made with perennial fruits, and taste foods grown right in the Driftless area. The afternoon's festivities also include live music, tie-dyeing with berry juice, and opportunities to connect with local businesses and organizations.
